Toy Safety and Compliance

At Toys of Wood Oxford, safety is our highest priority.
We design and market our toys with appropriate age markings and take full responsibility for ensuring children’s safety. Unlike some sellers who label all toys as “3 years+” to avoid responsibility, we carefully assess and label each product according to its true safety requirements.

All of our products comply with the European (EC) and U.S. (CPSIA) toy safety directives, and every item is tested and certified by internationally accredited laboratories.

European Standards (EC Directive 2009/48/EC)

Our products conform to the following standards:

• EN 71-1:2014 – Mechanical and physical properties
• EN 71-2:2011 + A1:2014 – Flammability
• EN 71-3:2013 + A1:2014 – Migration of certain elements

United States Standards (CPSIA & ASTM F963-16)

Our products also meet the requirements of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA, HR4040) and ASTM F963-16, covering:

• Physical and mechanical testing
• Flammability testing
• Heavy elements in paints and surface coatings
• Heavy metals in substrate materials

We also ensure compliance with limits for phthalate contents, including:

• DEHP (Di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate)
• DBP (Dibutyl phthalate)
• BBP (Benzyl butyl phthalate)
• DINP (Diisononyl phthalate)
• DNOP (Di-n-octyl phthalate)
• DIDP (Diisodecyl phthalate)
